The Role at a Glance

This position serves as a key liaison between IT and the Actuarial and Finance business functions, bridging a highly federated landscape of data processes, integrations, repositories, and departments. The Sr. Associate is expected to develop a strong working knowledge of the overarching data platform vision and ecosystem — spanning systems, processes, and cross-functional initiatives — and to apply that understanding in day-to-day engagement with IT, ensuring individual projects are executed in a manner consistent with the broader strategic direction. This role requires the ability to independently lead complex, concurrent projects, translating strategic intent into well-managed delivery while keeping multiple workstreams progressing in parallel.

What you'll be doing

Technology Partner
•Serve as a liaison between IT and the Actuarial and Finance business functions, facilitating clear and consistent communication across both sides.
•Translate complex business data needs, workflows, and dependencies into well-defined requirements that will resonate with IT and that IT teams can act on.
•Develop and maintain a working understanding of the broader data platform vision and ecosystem so that business needs are consistently framed within the appropriate strategic context.
•Help IT partners understand how individual projects relate to the larger data architecture and where interdependencies with other initiatives exist, reinforcing the directional guidance set by team leadership.

Solutions Architect
•Expected to be able to be hands on delivering solutions as well as working as an advisor to project teams
•Assess proposed IT solutions for alignment with the enterprise data platform strategy across actuarial and finance, escalating concerns or conflicts to leadership as appropriate.
•Identify integration points, shared dependencies, and potential conflicts across concurrent initiatives spanning multiple systems and departments.
•Provide informed input on the scoping and sequencing of IT projects to help ensure individual deliverables build toward a cohesive, integrated ecosystem rather than isolated point solutions.
•Participate in proof-of-concept evaluations to assess whether proposed approaches are consistent with the broader architecture and long-term platform goals.

Automation
•Identify opportunities to streamline manual handoffs and processes at the intersection of business and IT workflows.
•Support the adoption of automation approaches that are consistent with platform standards and reusable across the federated department landscape.
•Assist in transitioning manual reporting and data processes to governed, automated solutions that align with the data platform vision.

Project Leadership
•Independently lead complex, cross-functional projects from initiation through delivery, managing scope, timelines, stakeholder expectations, and dependencies across IT and business teams.
•Manage multiple concurrent initiatives, maintaining clarity on priorities and ensuring each project progresses without losing sight of its role in the broader platform ecosystem.
•Provide consistent and transparent project status, risk, and escalation communication to team leadership and relevant stakeholders.
•Coordinate across federated teams and departments to align workstreams, resolve blockers, and keep parallel efforts from producing conflicting or redundant outcomes.

Documentation
•Maintain documentation of cross-system data flows, integration dependencies, and business-IT decisions to support institutional knowledge and continuity.
•Document project activity, issue resolution, and key decisions to ensure transparency and traceability across initiatives.
•Ensure change management procedures are followed and that IT-facing changes are communicated clearly to impacted business stakeholders.
