General Purpose of Job

This position will provide subject matter expertise & direction on complex projects/initiatives for his/her assigned area of responsibility. As part of the Employee Relations COE, this individual collaborates Legal & the HRBP to develop employee relations solutions that effectively foster a high performing workplace. S/he interprets policy, conducts investigations & provides guidance to all levels of management in addressing employee relations & performance management issues.

Responsibilities

Assesses and manages organizational risk by examining and ensuring consistent application of the company's workplace policies and practices
Manages corrective action process for assigned client groups to include ongoing communication with Employee Relations, Legal & HR Business Partners.
Conducts assigned investigations within assigned client population according to internal guidelines and regulatory practices
Provides early warning to HR and as appropriate business leadership regarding unique and urgent issues which they Monitors & analyzes employee relations data for client groups & recommend organization-wide &/or client specific intervention, training, &/or other options to address identified themes.
Interprets policies & recommends procedures to ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state & local laws
Engages in frequent contact with client group population to identify potential issues & recommended follow-up to prevent employee relations problems from occurring.
Carries out duties in compliance with all state & federal regulations and guidelines.
Complies with all company & site policies & procedures.
Proactively recommends new approaches, policies & procedures to deliver ongoing improvement in the efficiency of HR practices.
Proactively identifies opportunities to formally & informally educate managers on employee relations trends, policy & law.
Coaches managers on how to effectively identify, navigate & resolve employee relations & performance mgmt issues.
Identifies opportunities for training workshops for managers on employee relations trends, policy & law to mitigate risk.
Partners with internal stakeholder to develop policies & procedures to reduce employee relations issues & mitigate risk.
Researches & responds to complaints submitted through external governmental agencies under direction of counsel.
Ensures self & managers are accountable for documentation and follow-through on employee relations issues.
Mitigates litigation risk by consistently addressing employee relations & performance mgmt issues.
Maintains all active case information in ER case management system
Partners with HR Business Partner's with designated client groups in supporting key HR initiatives such as Organizational Effectiveness and Design, Talent Management, Recruiting and Compensation 
Performs special assignment and/or project activities as required by organizational strategy, special projects, and unplanned business need
Maintains knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends for assigned area(s) of responsibility, assesses the impact, and collaborates with senior management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future solutions.
Directs and enhances organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives within assigned area(s) of responsibility.
Identifies and directs the implementation of process improvements that significantly improve quality across the team, department and/or business unit for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility.
Provides subject matter expertise to team members and applicable internal/external stakeholders on complex assignments/projects for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility.
Provides direction on complex assignments, projects, and/or initiatives to build and enhance the capability of his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility.
Partners with staffing & hiring managers to communicate & ensure adherence to HR policies, procedures, laws, standards & government regulations regarding the selection of applicants.

Education

4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's) - Minimum Required

Experience

5 7+ Years of employee relations experience or related Human Resources Field. (Required )

 

Work Arrangement:

Hybrid/Home : Employees will work from home generally three days each week and come into a Lincoln office on a schedule their manager will help set, following any applicable in-office training period determined by their manager.
