We are excited to be hiring a remote Senior Scrum Master for our IT Group Protection Solutions team.
Background Details:

This is a great opportunity to join the growing Group Protection Solutions IT organization at Lincoln Financial Group! You will be part of a team building next generation application solutions to help our customers achieve their technical and business goals.  This position will provide direction using a servant leader model for moderate to complex initiatives for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility to ensure agile theory, practices, and rules are understood and enacted. The Scrum Master will support teams within a fast-paced application development environment while adhering to Scrum principles.  The Scrum Master will lead a variety of efforts based on the needs of the organization and coordinate with various portfolio or enterprise teams.



What you will be doing:


  • Facilitating core Agile ceremonies with teams (Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-up, Demo, Retrospective and Backlog refinement).
  • Leading Scrum teams through facilitating progress toward delivery goals using Agile practices and coordinates with other non-scrum teams involved in the effort.
  • Facilitating collaborative sessions with internal clients and/or external vendors on complex/large-scale efforts to formulate creative and practical solutions to software challenges
  • Fostering assigned scrum teams to self-organization; ensures and supports empowerment of the team
  • Facilitating discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution
  • Keeping the teams focused on the Sprint and achieving Sprint goals
  • Providing direction on complex assignments, efforts, and/or initiatives to build and enhance the capability of his/her assigned area(s) of responsibilityIdentifying dependencies and removing impediments to scrum team’s progress
  • Guiding and enhancing organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives within assigned area(s) of responsibility
  • Identifying and guiding the implementation of process improvements that significantly improve quality across the team, department and/or business unit for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility.
  • Reporting on Agile metrics such as velocity, cycle time, and status reporting.
  • Maintain knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends for assigned area(s) of responsibility, assesses the impact, and collaborates with senior management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future solutions.
  • Managing internal and external communication, improves transparency, and communicates information throughout the organization.
  • Coaching your scrum teams and other scrum teams to support Agile adoption and application of principles.
  • Identifying and recommending process improvements that significantly reduce workloads or improve quality for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility. Performance and stress testing with security, migration, and integration.


What we're looking for:


  • 4 year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience – a degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology or Computer Engineering will be a plus
  • 5-7+ Years of experience as a Sr. System Analyst or Senior Scrum Master supporting or leading multiple software development teams to deliver high-quality software solutions using Agile techniques 
  • 3-6+ Years of experience managing multiple teams simultaneously in an Agile environment, including onsite and remote team members
  • 5-7+ Years of experience using Agile techniques such as Scrum or Kanban using industry standard Agile management tools such as Jira


Other Required Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to find a common ground and can gain collaboration among senior/executive management, colleagues, and peers; can influence outcomes without directing or commanding
  • A thorough understanding of multiple SDLC methodologies with an emphasis on Agile
  • Demonstrated strong relationship management skills with internal clients (e.g. senior management, peers and colleagues); proven ability to develop creative and collaborative approaches
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative style
  • Strong project management leadership skills including, critical ability to coordinate and balance multiple projects in a time-sensitive environment, under pressure, and meeting deadlines
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) with the ability to create/present powerful presentations for Sprint Ceremonies
  • Strong experience in managing multiple custom software development efforts
  • Demonstrated ability to use sound judgment and discretion regarding confidential information
