The Role at a Glance
The VP, Expense Transformation leads the Expense Efficiency Office (EEO), driving the execution of strategic efficiency initiatives that enable reinvestment in the company's highest priorities. This role sits at the center of a highly visible enterprise program, partnering with senior business, technology, finance, and AI leaders to turn identified opportunities into measurable business outcomes.
The role is accountable for translating approved efficiency opportunities into actionable plans, orchestrating execution across multiple workstreams, and ensuring committed value is realized. Success requires a blend of strategic thinking, operational leadership, executive stakeholder management, and disciplined program execution. The Vice President will also help shape the governance framework that brings transparency, accountability, and consistency to enterprise investment and reinvestment decisions.
What you'll be doing
- Lead the Expense Efficiency Office and oversee a portfolio of strategic efficiency initiatives across multiple business and functional areas, ensuring delivery against enterprise objectives and committed financial outcomes.
- Direct and develop a team of Workstream Leads, PMO resources, and financial analysts, fostering accountability, collaboration, and execution excellence across the program.
- Partner with senior business, technology, finance, and AI leaders to convert identified opportunities into executable roadmaps, validated business cases, and measurable value realization plans.
- Establish and maintain a comprehensive portfolio management framework, including initiative tracking, milestone management, dependency oversight, risk management, and benefits realization.
- Drive alignment and decision making across multiple concurrent workstreams, proactively addressing barriers, resolving competing priorities, and escalating critical risks when necessary.
- Provide regular updates and strategic recommendations to executive governance forums, including the Expense Efficiency Governance Committee and Strategic Investment Committee.
- Partner with governance stakeholders to develop and continuously enhance the framework for evaluating, prioritizing, and reinvesting efficiency generated savings.
- Build and scale the ETO office over time, evolving operating models, capabilities, team structure, and governance processes to support enterprise growth.
- Establish an effective operating model for partnership with HR and business leaders throughout initiative planning, change management, workforce impact assessment, and leadership communications.
What we’re looking for
Must-Haves
- 12+ Years experience in Expense Mgmt/Transformation that directly aligns to the specific responsibilities of this position.
- 5+ Years of senior management experience in a large complex organization including influencing senior management and critical stakeholder responsibility.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- Demonstrated success leading large scale transformation or efficiency programs involving multiple workstreams, diverse stakeholder groups, and executive governance forums.
- Strong strategic, financial, and analytical capabilities, including experience developing business cases and measuring value realization.
- Exceptional communication, relationship management, and executive presentation skills.
- Proven ability to operate effectively in ambiguous environments, build alignment across stakeholders, and drive results through influence.

The pay range for this position is $216,750 - $346,800 with anticipated pay for new hires between the minimum and midpoint of the range and could vary above and below the listed range as permitted by applicable law. Pay is based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln’s total rewards package for employees. In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit and individual. Other rewards may include long-term incentives, sales incentives and Lincoln’s standard benefits package.
