The Role at a Glance

We are excited to bring on an influential VP of Product to our Retirement Plan Services (RPS) business to work in any major Lincoln office or work-from-home.


Given RPS’s long track record of growth and recent internal promotions, we’re looking to fill this existing role with a leader who’s demonstrated accomplishments in product development, product management, external presentations, innovation, and strategic thinking. As the VP, you will lead a team responsible for a broad set of products & services which include stable value, in-plan guaranteed income, asset allocation & advisory services, competitive intelligence, product innovation, book value wrap, and workplace annuities. Working across multiple internal stakeholders and external partners, your team will develop new products, maintain and promote existing services, work alongside our client-facing teams to drive adoption and support client requests, report on successes and present results to senior management, and develop and implement strategic initiatives.      

What you'll be doing

  • Providing expertise to internal stakeholders on assigned products & services and strategic initiatives, while driving towards RPS’s overall strategic goals and metrics.
  • Inspiring the team to excel and achieve both short & long-term goals by managing capacity, developing talent, and providing hands-on leadership. 
  • Identifying competitor actions, market trends, and actionable client feedback, and then incorporating those into product enhancements and initiatives designed to improve RPS’s competitive positioning.
  • Collaborating with internal teams to provide thought leadership, support sales and client retention efforts, and manage both financial and operational risks.
  • Representing the Product team by presenting externally (e.g., client/consultant meetings, industry events, etc.) and participating in industry trade associations (e.g., SPARK, DCIIA, IRIC, SVIA, etc.)

What we’re looking for


  • 12+ Years retirement industry and product experience that aligns directly to the responsibilities of this role, including at least 5 years of management, strategy, and influencing senior management/critical stakeholders experience
  • 4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's)
  • Strong and proven financial & risk acumen. 
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, develop and implement process improvements.
  • Successful track record of hiring, retaining, developing and coaching staff, with ability to build both technical and leadership skills.
  • Proven strong relationship management skills with internal clients (e.g. senior/executive management, peers and colleagues); proven ability to develop creative and collaborative approaches.



  • FINRA licensing
  • Retirement product development experience, including managing a team that prioritizes and drives multiple initiatives.
  • Experience with external speaking engagements, such as conferences or advisor webinars, that promote retirement products.
  • Expertise in drafting and maintaining both technical materials (e.g., group/annuity contracts, product manuals, prospectuses, disclosures, etc.) as well as non-technical materials (marketing brochures, client letters, overview presentations, on-line tools, etc.).
