The Role at a Glance

This position develops and aligns people strategies for assigned client areas.  Specifically, this role will align to the Lincoln Financial Distributors team helping Corporate Leadership Group leaders develop and drive HR strategies within their teams and for the function overall.   Responsible for supporting strategic and transformational initiatives, providing thought leadership in partnership with the SVP, HRBP to achieve key business objectives. Collaborate with senior leadership to drive business goals through the effective management of Human Resource functions and carry out duties in alignment with the short and long-term strategic and financial objectives of Lincoln Financial Group (LFG).

What you'll be doing

  • Maintains knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends for assigned area(s) of responsibility, assesses the impact, and collaborates with executive/senior management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future strategies.
  • Leads the identification, development, and implementation of strategic process improvements that improve quality across the team, business unit, and/or the organization for assigned area(s) of responsibility.
  • Partner with leaders to drive organizational change, culture shifts and workforce planning to support initiatives. 
  • Provide data-driven insights to shape people strategies and decision-making.
  • Partner with HR COE SMEs to develop and execute talent strategies that address future workforce needs, including succession planning and leadership development.
  • Support the  organization in change management, engagement and retention strategies during transformational efforts.
  • Leads and enhances organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives within assigned area(s) of responsibility.
  • Provides highly specialized expertise and thought leadership to internal/external stakeholders for their assigned area(s) of responsibility.
  • Contributes to business unit/operational and enterprise strategy creation for their assigned area(s) of responsibility.
  • Builds organizational capability within their assigned area(s) of responsibility.
  • Leads/executes approved strategy for their assigned area(s) of responsibility.
  • Ensures the Human Resource services are meeting all objectives pertaining to quality, compliance, regulations, productivity, customer service, budget, and project management.
  • Ensures the Human Resource operational plans are aligned with Lincoln Financial Group’s (LFG) overall business plans and specific strategic and tactical initiatives.
  • Ensures the effective implementation, integration, and execution of the business strategy and strategic initiatives while aligning HR support to drive success.
  • Advises senior leadership on HR strategies and risks across all Human Resource functions.
  • Directs the management of resources and Human Resources staff for optimum performance and output as well as assuming responsibility for all budget planning, financial analysis and expense control.
  • Identifies Human Resource organizational risks and develops/implements mitigation plans.
  • Develops and directs the on-boarding of key senior hires to drive retention and speed time to productivity.
  • Ensures the effective management of employee relations including: investigations; monitoring of corrective actions taken; conflict resolutions; and related documentation.
  • Ensures the documentation and monitoring of compliance related matters; meeting or exceeding all regulatory agency guidelines and standards as well LFG internal requirements.
  • Ensures the development of business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for all Human Resource initiatives while obtaining the required acceptance for these initiatives.
  • Leads the Human Resources organization’s focus on internal customer service at every touch point while simultaneously delivering operational effectiveness.
  • Partners with the HR, SVP to establish consistent and repeatable practices and approaches across the Corporate HR function and in alignment with COE partners. 

 

What we’re looking for

  • 4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's) (Minimum Required)
  • Experience within an HR Center of Excellence (COE) as well as preferably serving as an HRBP. 
  • 12+ Years of progressively more responsible experience in Human Resources. 
  • Demonstrated ability to develop strategies and business plans to deliver and exceed expected business objectives and results. 
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, develop and implement process improvements.
  • Demonstrated strong relationship management skills with internal clients (e.g. senior/executive management, peers and colleagues); proven ability to develop creative and collaborative approaches.  
  • Demonstrates strong project management leadership skills including, critical ability to coordinate and balance multiple projects in a time-sensitive environment, under pressure, and meeting deadlines. 
  • Finds common ground and can gain collaboration among senior/executive management, colleagues and peers; can influence outcomes without directing or commanding. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). 
  • Successfully completes regulatory and job training requirements. 
  • Understands the interdependencies of how people and organizations function, and can negotiate through complex political situations effectively. 
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative style.
  • Demonstrated experience as a thought leader. Will be able to demonstrate being sought after for advice, counsel, and judgment.

  • Extensive knowledge and proven application of talent management, compensation, employee relations, role and organizational design, leadership coaching, employee communication, training and development, and workflow process improvement.

  • Demonstrated experience designing and implementing strategic Human Resource programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive Human Resource strategies and programs in a complex environment at the most senior levels of the company.

The pay range for this position is $157,000 - $285,600 with anticipated pay for new hires between the minimum and midpoint of the range and could vary above and below the listed range as permitted by applicable law. Pay is based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln’s total rewards package for employees.  In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit and individual.  Other rewards may include long-term incentives, sales incentives and Lincoln’s standard benefits package.
