The Role at a Glance

The Senior Director, Financial Reporting role within the Fund Administration and Operations Team (FAO) provides leadership and direction for the Lincoln Funds to successfully complete required SEC filings.  This requires a high level of coordination with many internal and external parties at various levels. This position will also provide oversight and direction for the preparation of Board Materials.

What you'll be doing

•Provide direction to staff members in the completion of regulatory filings.  This includes distributing work to staff, providing training and guidance, review of work performed and monitoring staff workloads to ensure successful completion of work given stringent timeframes.  
•Research accounting guidance for newly developed products and company initiatives related to Lincoln Funds.
•Assure fund administration compliance with the Investment Company Act of 1940 as well as the Securities Acts of 1933 and 1934 and applicable Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
•Work closely with External Auditor in completing financials, formulating new/updating existing disclosures and as a point of escalation with sub-advisers and Fund Accountant in obtaining audit evidence to ensure final opinions.
•Provide oversight and guidance of internal parties such as Legal, Compliance and Fund Management, with the presentation and inclusion of regulatory financial information contained in the shareholder reports.
•Assist with the preparation of and review of Fund Administration Board Materials.
•Maintain a working knowledge of strategic investment market activities and industry pronouncements and their impact on the Funds as well as Lincoln.
•Stay current with technological innovations, updating administration capabilities and capacity in a cost effective and efficient fashion.
•Direct and/or participate in departmental or enterprise-wide complex projects assigned by providing stakeholders with actionable and valuable financial reporting information to enable decision-making that results in successful outcomes.
•Direct and enhance organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives within assigned areas of responsibility.
•Assist in identifying and direct strategic process improvements that significantly reduce workloads or improve quality across the team, department and/or business unit for assigned areas of responsibility.
•Direct, establish and implement priorities, performance goals and objectives to ensure departmental results for their assigned areas of responsibility.
•Direct and evaluate departmental performance and take appropriate action to meet and/or exceed performance standards for assigned areas of responsibility.
•Provide strategic leadership and direction to continually improve capability and results for their assigned areas of responsibility.
•Ensure that top talent is hired and retained for their assigned areas of responsibility.

What we’re looking for

•5-7+ Years of experience in Financial Reporting and/or Fund Accounting that aligns with the regulatory requirements of open-end funds is required.
•Experience with AICPA Audit and Accounting guide, Reg S-X, N1-A and N-2 disclosure requirements is required. 
•Experience working with a third-party administrator and independent audit firms is required.
•Experience with preparing board materials and interaction with Mutual Fund Boards is preferred.
•Experience with Mutual Fund budgets including analysis of budget assumptions and various allocation methodologies is preferred. 
•2+ Years of managerial, supervisory, and/or demonstrated leadership experience including influencing senior management/critical stakeholders experience is preferred. 
•4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's) (Minimum Required).
•CPA license is preferred.
•Experience with Microsoft Co-Pilot or Claude is encouraged.
•Demonstrated ability to identify, develop and implement process improvements.
•Demonstrated strong relationship management skills with internal clients (e.g. senior management, peers and colleagues); proven ability to develop creative and collaborative approaches.  
•Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative style.  
•Demonstrates strong project management leadership skills including, critical ability to coordinate and balance multiple projects in a time-sensitive environment, under pressure, and meeting deadlines. 
•Finds common ground and can gain collaboration among senior management, colleagues and peers; can influence outcomes without directing or commanding. 
•Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

The pay range for this position is $135,375 - $216,600 with anticipated pay for new hires between the minimum and midpoint of the range and could vary above and below the listed range as permitted by applicable law. Pay is based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln’s total rewards package for employees.  In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit and individual.  Other rewards may include long-term incentives, sales incentives and Lincoln’s standard benefits package.
